Catering
Dinner is served!
Talk about the weather.... Break the ice... Not only to be found outside, but also inside the restaurant: waiting staff often have to be able to talk about this, that and the other. And preferably in more than one language! At the French in the catering industry workshop they will learn quite a bit of (catering) French. You also need German, English, Spanish, etc in your catering business? These workshops are available upon request.

Target group:
Catering staff who want to be able to serve their customers in a warm and friendly way in Dutch as well as in French.
The excellent service they provide in Dutch, they want to provide in French as well. And this is considered a must!
Level:
We organise this training for participants from level A0(00) to level A2(50)
Of course we do work with uniform groups.
Aim:
An interactive, functional training French for catering staff, in order for them to be able to deal with French speaking customers in situations that occur most often in a restaurant, brasserie etc ...
Programme:
Length:
15 hrs.
5 session of 3 hrs.
Contents:
- use of language routines
- greeting customers
- thanking customers
- saying goodbye to customers
- apologise
- asking if the meal was satisfactory
- ask the customer for his wishes
- give information about what is on the menu (like ‘what ingredients are in that dish?’)
- be able to say that the dish is no longer available and be able to make a suggestion
- make suggestions e.g. about wine
- conduct an informal chat with the customers about e.g. the weather, how busy it is in town this time of year, etc,...
- being able to react briefly to a complaint
Approach:
Communication is key: the training will start with real-life situations suggested by the catering staff participants. We hand vocabulary and key sentences to the participants which they practise in role play.
To be able to guarantee the interactivity of this training, the maximum number of participants is limited to 5.
